Lewisham Lionhearts FC is affiliated to the Football Association.

 

We are also affiliated to Kings Church and welcome players irrespective of their beliefs to the club provided that they respect the teams Christian background.

 

We pride ourselves on being an inclusive club and accept players of all abilities.  Our aim is to help players to;

• develop their football skills and knowledge

• encourage teamwork, self-discipline, reliability

• encourage leadership, improve communication between players and adults, 

• promote positive attitudes, make new friendships,

• most importantly - enjoy playing football and have fun!

 

Lewisham Lionhearts came into existence  in 1994 from a bunch of guys watching their young kids playing football,  to them deciding that they wanted to recapture their youth and show of their own footballing skills on the pitch.

 

As many went to church on Sundays they realised they needed to find a league that played on Saturday mornings.  They found a Christian League and joined the South London Churches league; this is where the club has continued to play.   Over many years the league has changed its age ranges varying from U11 to U18.   Lewisham Lionhearts have had success within these leagues and want to continue on building this year.

 

Amongst our many cup wins for this season 2015/2016  has been the most exciting as Lewisham Lionhearts become winners of the U12, U14 and U16 league cups.

 

The club will be taking part in many tournaments throughout the summer and look forward to the challenges that are ahead of us for 2016/2017 season.
